Learning to Express Myself — Day 4

I feel better today after getting some sprints in. Working out has been very helpful to my mental stability. Over the past 10 months I have lost 54 pounds to date. That change has been hard at certain points. What I have started to come to find out is that I need physical exercise that allows me to let our frustration and pent up anger that I have. Recently I started to go to the gym every other day. That has been good because I get to take 30 minutes in my day and get my frustration out on the weights. The other days have been walks for 25 minutes. It is those days that my mind has been more talkative to me. Today I went on a new program of sprinting in intervals with walks in between. My Apple Watch is monitoring my vo2 to see if I am getting enough oxygen. Right now I am in the high level but I am going to set a goal to increase into higher levels in my age range. Before my focus has been on taking a certain amount of steps per day. That has been very helpful up to this point and will continue to work towards reaching that step goal. The difference is that when I did the sprints, I felt my frustration being released as I did a sprint. Seemed as though I took my frustration and anger out during the sprint. That felt good to me. So I will get to try this plan every other day opposite of the gym days. Hopes are that my mind will calm itself with the frustration and anger having an avenue to release itself.

The other day I was looking for ways to remove “noise” from my day that does nothing good to making me a better person. That “noise” that I removed is social media and news websites. I have been trying to avoid those sites but I would eventually go back to them every once in awhile. It was evident that when I would go to those sites I would come away with a bad “user experience”. What I did was block these sites. I never really liked using the apps on my devices. I went to my phone settings and set Facebook, LinkedIn, Fox News, and CNN as blocked sites. There was not much time I would spend on Facebook or LinkedIn. Fox News and CNN are a joke. There is no news these days that make life better. Those companies are all about advertising and selling news that will capture a particular audience. No longer is there news that is of good quality for me to read or listen to. When the news can find a way to bring people together and promote health in all areas of my life, I will consider wanting to know what is going on in the world.

That is it for the day.
